Bicentennial Celebrations

    Jean Thomas and Marion Thomas Harbaugh were co-chairmen of the Bicentennial celebration for Biglerville and surrounding areas.  The Bicentennial celebrations lasted five days and included a parade, Bicentennial chorus, and adult and children's Bicentennial bands formed just for the occasion.  The activities were formed in order to involve a lot of the community members.  After the celebrations, it was the goal of Marion and Jean to create a historical and preservation society.  Monies left over from the Bicentennial festivities went to form this society.
